Cenaero has acquired a supercomputer of about 3300 cores supplying a computing power of close to 40 TFLOPS

[21/06/2011]

Cenaero recently awarded a public supply contract to Serviware SAS for an amount of close to 2 millions euros for the installation of a supercomputer of about 3300 cores supplying a computing power of close to 40 TFLOPS. The offer is based on Bull hardware with their bullx B500 line equipped with Intel Xeon processors. The compute nodes of the supercomputer will be interconnected with a large bandwidth low latency Infiniband QDR system. The solution will also include a high performance storage infrastructure based on LSI hardware and the IBM GPFS parallel filesystem for a capacity of about 120 TB. Finally, this supercomputer will be delivered, in the course of this Summer, in a mobile data center based on the Mobull solution developed by Bull, namely a 14 meter long container able to host eventually 15 IT racks for an available electrical power of 480 kW. This project is part of the "SINUS" project portfolio managed by Cenaero supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Wallonia.
