Cenaero, in collaboration with EDF and Snecma, will organize a mini-symposium @ ECCM2010

The IVth European Conference on Computational Mechanics-ECCM 2010, will be held in Paris, France, May 16-21 2010 (http://www.eccm2010.org/).
During this conference, EDF, SNECMA and Cenaero will propose a mini-symposium entitled: “Computational methods for damage tolerant analysis: Industrial case studies”. The objective of this mini-symposium is mainly to compare different strategies to solve a given industrial damage tolerant problem on several aspects:
  • user friendliness;
  • capabilities (e.g. propagation...);
  • industrialization;
  • speed;
  • accuracy...
One industrial-like model is supplied which can be modeled in several load configurations, in order to propose difficulty levels. This mini-symposium will give the opportunity to the participants and attendees to compare and measure the new achievements in this topic, enabling them to use new strategies to develop their own approaches. The presentation available here describes the problem and required data (CAD and FE models will be supplied in a second time to the participants). You are invited to show your interest by applying on the ECCM2010 website (http://www.eccm2010.org/).
Whether you would have any question regarding this topic, do not hesitate to contact us (hans.minnebo AT cenaero.be or eric.wyart AT cenaero.be).
