Cenaero extends its distributed memory cluster
In order to strengthen its positioning in High Performance Computing, Cenaero is extending its distributed memory cluster.
Six companies filed an offer for the corresponding European public procurement tender (see e.g. B-Gosselies: Superordinateur
). Based on the evaluation of these offers according to the published evaluation criteria, Cenaero
's Board of Directors alloted the contract to Serviware based in Croissy-Beaubourg, France.
The offered solution, based on IBM hardware, integrates 225 additional computing nodes equipped with two quad-core Intel processors, for a total of more than 2000 computing cores, as well as a high performance storage solution. The extended cluster is due to enter production by the end of June 2008.
